What are the four surface treatments for common barbed wire fences
Mar 26, 2020
Surface treatment methods are mainly divided into four methods: cold galvanized, hot galvanized, plastic spraying, and dipping.
First and foremost, cold galvanized. It is a more fundamental treatment method for the surface treatment of barbed wire fence. Its role is to remove rust on the surface of the wire. But the comparison of life time is short. It will rust in a short time.
Second, hot-dip galvanizing. Compared with cold galvanizing, hot galvanizing has a longer service life. It will not rust at all.
Third, spray plastic. Plastic spraying is an electrostatic spraying treatment on the surface of metal wires. The thickness is about 0.3 mm. Its role is to block the surface of the wire from the outside world to avoid rust or corrosion. The service life is slightly longer than that of cold galvanized. Generally, the peach type column is treated by spraying plastic.
Fourth, dip. The dipping thickness is about 0.8 mm. Under normal circumstances, dipping is a more common and cost-effective surface treatment method. If the wire is hot-dip galvanized and then dipped, it is a product with a longer life.
However, some customers require cheaper iron wires, so some manufacturers lower the temperature when dipping, so that the thickness will reach about 1.2mm. But the powder did not melt and attached to the wire.
